The Woodland Park Boys & Girls Club partnered with the Florida Organic Growers and the Alachua County CHOICES Health and Wellness program to promote nutrition and healthy behaviors. On Monday October 24th, 2011 Woodland Park celebrated National Food Day when FOG planted a fruit and vegetable garden consisting of 10 beds with vegetables which included: collard greens, peppers, tomatoes, radish, carrots, garlic, and several other healthy options. With the help of the Woodland Park members, staff, Gainesville Housing Authority management, and residents of the community, the event was a success.
